Inspired by the stunning microscopy images of crystallized hydroquinone by @quimica_tech (the final two images), this acrylic and pencil painting explores the unexpected connections between science, memory, and culture.
Small motifs and patterns emerged intuitively through memory and spontaneous mark-making, with some echoing traditional Persian motifs. I’m fascinated by the way scientific imagery can awaken visual memories and inspire new forms—revealing connections between the microscopic world and the cultural landscapes we carry within us.
Acrylic and pencil on paper, ~20 × 30 cm (8 x 12 in, approx.); framed: 30 × 45 cm (12 × 18 in, approx.).
