Degredation

This acrylic painting (40cm x 50cm) shows Interleukin-15 (IL-15) receptor as a stylized, abstract ribbon structure undergoing proteasomal degradation after ubiquitination by the CRL5 complex (CISH/ELOB/ELOC/CUL5/RNF7/ARIH2). This represents the key findings by our paper (Nikolic et al.) published in the Cancer Cell journal, where we used genome-wide CRISPR screening to identify novel regulators of IL-15 signaling that can enhance anti-tumor immunity of natural killer (NK) cells. This painting was featured on the cover of the Cancer Cell.
